Planning for the Future

Grasping the opportunity

Our Sector Skills Agreement gives us the chance to build on our track record of success and really deliver the training and skills that our mission for the industry requires. We need to challenge ourselves, continuously improve what we are doing and use the influence we have with key stakeholders to open doors to new opportunities for the industry.

To succeed we need to:

  • strive to achieve higher levels of performance, benchmarking ourselves against the best;
  • reduce costs and increase non levy income – so that our activities become financially self-sufficient and we return the levy to industry in grants;
  • cut bureaucracy, streamline processes – prioritising our resources to focus on our frontline customer service so improving customer satisfaction;
  • lobby persuasively – to win the necessary Government funding for our industry both nationally and regionally.

Planning for the future

Each CITB-ConstructionSkills’ Directorate business plan is focused towards achieving our vision. They have been informed by both external, industry related, and internal influences – this is demonstrated below:
