Curriculum centres

Our regional networks, called Curriculum Centres and Partnerships, include representatives from FE colleges, professional institutions, Education Business Partners (EBPs) employers, schools and careers services who offer advice and guidance to teachers and careers advisors in schools and colleges. They may also visit schools and run construction related activities for students for Key Stages 1 – 4.

Learning seminars, placements for careers advisers and teachers, site visits, work experience and work shadowing placements for students are just a few of the initiatives organised by the Curriculum Centres.

Activities popular in schools include:

  • Rapid Response Engineering Challenge - a Civil Engineering activity based on the needs of an area after a natural disaster e.g. a hurricane.
  • Lego tower - building the highest tower out of Lego but to a budget.
  • Tetrahedron - creating a series of tetrahedron – develops team skills.
