Sustainability

Following government announcements made in August 2015 about the Zero Carbon Homes target and the future of government-subsidised energy efficiency programmes, we are in the process of revamping our sustainability pages.

The construction industry and UK Government have committed to a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the built environment by 2025.

Achieving this target will require industry to construct low energy buildings as standard, deliver a large scale programme of energy efficiency retrofit and significantly decarbonise construction operations.

The growth of sustainable construction will mean that many construction professionals will need to upskill, to keep up to speed with the latest development.

It’s also a real opportunity for construction employers to access new and emerging markets, like in energy efficiency retrofit.
