The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has been presented with the Construction Industry Training Board’s (CITB) Outstanding Strategic Partner award.
The presentation took place last night at the Pride of Construction awards in Old Billingsgate, London.
The awards mark CITB’s 50th anniversary and recognise the contribution made by industry leaders, businesses, training organisations, partners and apprentices in the last six decades.
The industry-led judging panel commended FMB for its engagement with small and micro businesses, its ability to bring about collaborative working practices in a fragmented industry and its work in helping SMEs to understand changes in industry and stay legal.
Brian Berry, CEO of FMB, said, “We are thrilled to receive this award on such a momentous night for CITB and the construction industry.
"It’s great to get recognition for we work we do to help our members make the best of opportunities that come their way.”
James Wates, Chairman of CITB, said, “FMB is an outstanding strategic partner. Its hard work in ensuring collaborative working practices within a diverse industry is a major factor in its success and that of its members.”
The judges also highly commended JCB, describing the construction machinery manufacturer as “a globally-important corporate whose training centre in the Midlands is second to none”.
