Results of CITB funding

Our Skills and training fund has awarded close to £14m for a range of training projects since it was launched in 2015:

• 80% of the funding has gone to construction businesses with fewer than 50 employees
• 60% of funding has gone to projects in England, with projects in Scotland and Wales getting 28% and 12% of the funds respectively
• 19% of the funding has gone to projects helping workers over 50 keep up with their skills and knowledge so that they can continue to be productive in the industry
• over 2,000 workers have benefitted from a Skills and training funded project in 2018-2019 alone.

Since launching in 2018, CITB has awarded £25.5 million through the Structured fund for commissioned projects.

• We have commissioned 77 projects under our three priorities: careers, training and development, and innovation.
• 27 projects have been careers commissions, accounting for £14.9 million funding
• 37 training and development projects, accounting for £5.7 million funding
• 13 innovation projects, accounting for £4.9 million funding.

Projects have spanned a broad range of themes including: training for ex-offenders, career changers, pathways into construction, immersive learning and assessment infrastructure.
