Join the review of construction training standards

Standards underpin our industry. They guide how we train people at all levels, determine qualifications and accreditation, ensure competency and can help you get on site and ply your trade.

CITB is starting a long-term plan to check that standards used for construction training are up to date and relevant.

Without your voice we can't set standards

CITB’s role is to reflect the opinions of industry, not define the standards ourselves. So without expert advice and input we cannot ensure the best quality standards are set.

Help set the standards in your sector by joining this review

Tell us what areas you're interested in, and how much you want to be involved. You will have the opportunity to steer the review of your sector, instead of just having to accept the opinion of others.

We will be consulting on many standards over the next five years, but at the moment we’re asking for your help with six suites of National Occupational Standards, and 21 short course standards. The types of standard are shown in the form below.

There’s lots of ways to get involved in the consultations, depending on how much time you have.

For each standard, an online consultation would take about 30-60 minutes, attending a webinar would last an hour and you can take part from anywhere with an internet connection. Or we can phone you if you can only spare 20-30 minutes. Attending a steering group would mean a day of your time, including travel to a location central to all those taking part. We would provide lunch and refreshments.
