This form is to request the advance of attendance grant payments to the end of the apprentice's current year.
This is only available to intermediate level apprentices currently in their second or third year and higher level apprentices in their final year, where quarterly grant payments have already been set up.
By requesting this advance you confirm your commitment to retain your apprentice through to the completion of their apprenticeship. The advance payment is subject to the standard terms and conditions and the reclaiming of grant paid if the apprentice leaves employment or completes their apprenticeship early.
The advance of the Apprenticeship Grant is to support employers who are committed to retaining their apprentice through to the completion of their apprenticeship. This means, even where an employer needs to access the Government Retention Scheme and furlough their apprentice provided the employer intends to continue the apprenticeship to completion they may still request the advance payment. Should the apprentice’s employment or apprenticeship discontinue prior to its completion the advance will be recoverable for the apprentice’s time not spent in in active employment.
