CITB is introducing the supporting systems below to provide a single place to find industry standard courses, to register individual achievements and to automate grant payments to employers, removing the need to complete paperwork and to employ extra resources to claim grant support.
Construction Training Directory
The Construction Training Directory is a searchable online directory of construction training courses, tests and qualifications delivered by Approved Training Organisations (ATO) to defined training standards that have been developed with input from industry.
Employers can choose a provider based on location, price and timing, making it easy to select a course that best meet their needs.
Construction Training Register
This online register will hold individuals’ transferable, construction training courses and qualifications achievements. Over time, it will build a comprehensive picture of skills training across Great Britain.
Employers will be able to check the skills and competence of their workforce and new recruits, helping to confirm they have the right skills and improve productivity.
Approved Training Organisation (ATO)
Approved Training Organisations or ATOs, will be organisations delivering construction training courses and qualifications to a defined training standard, who have successfully completed the CITB approval process.
These could include commercial training providers, in-house training departments, and education establishments.
Automated grant payments
On successful completion of a course, the training provider will confirm the learner’s achievement, uploading the details onto CITB’s National Register.
This will trigger an automatic payment to the employer, speeding up the payment process and removing the need to complete paperwork.
