Course content

The course includes:

• Understand operator responsibilities, site safety, and relevant regulations (PUWER, LOLER)

• Identify ADT components, controls, safety systems, and working limits

• Perform daily pre-use inspections, checks, and basic maintenance

• Mount, dismount, and operate the ADT safely

• Manoeuvre the vehicle over varying ground conditions, inclines, and confined areas

• Load, transport, and tip materials efficiently while maintaining stability

• Work safely around other plant, personnel, and site hazards

• Recognise ground conditions, obstacles, and environmental risks

• Conduct safe shutdown, parking, and securing procedures

• Prepare for CPCS theory and practical assessments.

Teaching and assessment

• Four days of classroom learning and practical exercises

• One day CPCS technical tests.

What you get

• CPCS Trained Operator Card (red card) on passing the CPCS technical tests

• CITB National Construction College e-certificate available on request.

Entry requirements

1. CITB HS&E test passed within the last two years, or the new test CPCS Plant Operative Health, Safety and Environment Test - NOCN Job Cards

2. Good spoken and written English.

3. Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
