Course Content

The course includes:

  • Legislation

  • Health and Safety

  • Responsibilities by EUSR Category

  • Identify Underground Services using plans, equipment and safe systems

  • Apply HSG47, CDM and Utility-sector best practice

  • Inspect live excavations and surrounding controls to ensure compliance

  • Identify unsafe excavation conditions and specify corrective actions

  • Demonstrate effective supervision and management of excavation works

Teaching and Assessment

  • Classroom learning and practical sessions

  • Assessment by tutor observation

  • Written test.

Entry requirements

Candidates must either currently hold valid EUSR Categories 3, 4 or 5 qualifications or have had them expire within the last 6 months to be eligible to attend this refresher training. Verification must be completed at the time of booking to confirm that candidates hold, or have previously held, valid EUSR categories. This verification will be conducted via the EUSR website using a valid EUSR ID provided at the time of booking.
