What is this course about?
This one-day interactive course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects of the building, construction and civil engineering industries that affect the environment. It will provide delegates with a broad understanding of the environment, the issues that construction sites face and the ways to protect the environment on site.

The course has been developed for site supervisors and/or managers, and to provide delegates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites, but anyone who would like to learn more about this area can take this course.
What are the course aims?
This course aims to help construction supervisors and those in similar roles understand how to:
Meet environmental legal requirements and minimise nuisance or disturbance to neighbours
Protect the natural environment, including ecosystems, wildlife, water resources, and heritage or archaeological sites
Apply environmental management systems to control and reduce environmental damage
Prevent pollution, including controlling water use, protecting watercourses, and managing contaminated land
Manage resources responsibly, including ethically sourced timber and the safe handling and disposal of waste.
Are there any entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, it has been developed for construction supervisors and managers, and so this should be considered when enrolling on this course.

This course can be taken in a classroom or via remote delivery - whatever suits you better.
How long is the certificate valid for?
Certification for this course is valid for five years. To stay certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.
