Next steps

As a relatively less-automated sector, construction stands to gain more from modernisation than other parts of the economy. Embracing digital technology and cutting-edge skills can help address ongoing industry challenges like inconsistent margins for some sectors; the challenge to recruit, upskill and retain the future workforce; and improving health, safely and mental wellbeing. Although produced in 2019, much of what is included in the report remains relevant today.
