The project will address gender diversity in construction, focusing on Crossrail and Tideway and key construction projects in London and Birmingham.
As the lead delivery partner, Women into Construction will use innovative techniques to deliver advice and guidance on work experience and training to support women in to sustainable employment.
This advice and guidance will be based on best practice delivered in over 60 construction companies over 8 years and trialling new approaches in the West Midlands.
- Engage 80 employers and 400 women, 300 of whom go on to register with Women in Construction
- 210 complete employability training
- 90 complete work placements
- 140 enter employment and 60 of which to sustain this employment for at least 26 weeks.

End of project summary
Women Into Construction is an independent not-for-profit organisation that promotes gender equality in construction. We provide bespoke support to women wishing to work in the construction industry, and assist contractors to recruit highly motivated, trained women, helping to reduce skills gaps and create a more gender-equal work force.
The project was hugely succesful and the key outputs and outcomes are detailed in the Social return on Investment Analysis produced for WIC and found within the resourses linked to this project.
