CITB supports Department for Education campaign to recruit FE construction trainers

CITB is supporting the Department for Education's “Train Others in Further Education” campaign, with a focus on construction.

The campaign, which launched at the end of September, aims to encourage experienced industry professionals to share their skills by moving into FE training roles.

CITB has been working closely with the agency commissioned to develop a regional index for the campaign. As part of this collaboration, CITB gave permission for the agency to reference and use data from the latest Construction Workforce Outlook (CWO) report, alongside information on known projects in the area and case studies from NCC team members who have transitioned from on the tools into trainers.

The index will identify the regions where recruiting and retaining construction further education trainers could have the greatest impact, by combining teacher vacancy data with wider indicators of construction demand and workforce need.
