Help inspire the next generation during Construction and Engineering Week 2026

Primary and secondary school pupils from across the region will have the opportunity to explore exciting careers in construction and engineering during Construction and Engineering Week 2026, taking place at the Lincolnshire Showground from 22-24 September 2026.

Now in its 22nd year, the event is sponsored by CITB, ECITB and the Humber Energy Board, and is dedicated to inspiring young people through engaging, hands-on experiences that showcase the diverse range of career opportunities available across the construction and engineering sectors.

Day one (Tuesday 22 September) will be tailored to primary school students with day two and three (Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 September) targeted at SEND and secondary school pupils.

Employers are encouraged to showcase their expertise through a range of practical, interactive and hands-on activities relevant to their trade and sector. It is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future workforce. By taking part, businesses can help ignite passion and ambition in the next generation while raising awareness of their organisation, trade and career pathways among thousands of young people.

Supported by 50 companies from across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the Humber, the event continues to make a significant impact. In 2025, more than 1,500 young people aged 10-18 attended across the three-day event, taking part in hands-on trade activities and gaining valuable insight into potential career routes.

Following the event, it was found that 79% of participants reported being more aware of what employers look for, 71% said the event had helped them develop relevant industry skills, and 63% stated that they were now more likely to consider a career in construction or engineering.
