Course content
The course includes:
Introduction to the BSA: A breakdown of why the act is in place and the implications of the changes made
Basic requirements of the act and government and regulatory duties
Definition of a "high-risk" building
The Golden Thread: Production and retention of the ‘golden thread’, along with how duty holders must maintain and review the documentation
The 3 gateways: Requirements for each of the 3 gateways, what happens at each point of the gateway process and what the regulator will need
The role of each duty holder and differences between these roles under the CDM regs and under the BSA
Competencies and behaviours: Government guidance for the appointment of competent persons within the BSA, with a focus on behavioural competence and the implications of appointees and "serious sanctions".
