There are two courses within the Site Safety Plus suite specifically for site supervisors:
The two-day Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
The one-day Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SSSTS-R)
What is this course about?
This one-day course is for existing site supervisors.
It is designed to refresh essential knowledge learnt on the two-day course with up-to-date information, highlighting the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of necessary control measures and adequate communication, in order to sustain a health and safety culture in the workforce.
Is this course right for me?
This course is for those who have previously passed the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course, or a previous refresher course.
What are the course aims?
The course aims to help refresh the knowledge of construction site supervisors on:
Health and safety law, and how it applies to supervisors
Their supervisory responsibilities for controlling site safely
The importance of risk assessments and the need for method statements
How to deliver effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
How to monitor site activities effectively
Why timely intervention is important when bad practice is identified.
Are there any entry requirements?
To take this course, delegates are required to have previously completed the two-day SSSTS course.
Where can I take this course?
This course can be taken in a classroom or via remote delivery, whatever suits you best.
How long is the certificate valid for?
Certification for this course is valid for five years. To stay certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.
