The one-day Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SSSTS-R)
What is this course about?
This two-day course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects of the building, construction and civil engineering industries that affect safe working. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication, in order to sustain a health and safety culture in the workforce.

This course is designed for those who have, or are about to have, supervisory responsibilities.
What are the course aims?
The course aims to help construction site supervisors to understand:
Health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors
Their supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
The importance of risk assessments and the need for method statements
How to deliver effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
How to monitor site activities effectively
Why timely intervention is important when bad practice is identified.
Are there any entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements. However, delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a site supervisor. Previous health and safety knowledge is also recommended.
Where can I take this course?
This course can be taken in a classroom or via remote delivery, whatever suits you best.
How long is the certificate valid for?
Certification for this course is valid for five years. To stay certified in this area, you will need to retake the course, or take the Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SSSTS-R) before the expiry date.
