Course content

The course includes:

• Health, safety and welfare on construction sites

• The structure of health and safety law

• Roles and responsibilities of supervisors and managers

• The importance of method statements

• How to communicate on site

• Behavioural safety

• Occupational health.

Teaching and assessment

Classroom-based discussion, case studies, group work and presentations

You must attend all 7.5 hours as you will be continually assessed

There will also be a multiple-choice exam

What you get

CITB renewable 5-year Site Safety Plus certificate. This must be renewed every five years by passing the SSSTS Refresher course before your certificate expiry date.

The course also includes publications, registration, certification, lunch and refreshments.

Entry requirements

1. Current SSSTS Certificate gained in the last five years.

2. Good spoken and written English.

3. Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.

4. Test re-sits must take place within 90 days of the original course (at an additional cost).
