  • Crane stability, duty charts, and safety devices
  • Crane appreciation
  • British Standard 7121
  • The role of crane supervisor
  • The 'appointed person'
  • Preparing an area with exclusion zones.

Teaching and assessment 

  • 3 days of classroom learning and practical exercises
  • 1-day CPCS technical tests.

What you get

  • CPCS Trained Operator Card (red card) on passing the CPCS technical tests
  • CITB National Construction College e-certificate available on request.

Entry requirements

  1. CITB Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) Supervisor Level (SPEC SUP) gained in the last two years
  2. Good spoken and written English
  3. Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
