Learn about the duties of a crane supervisor, including the legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice, and industrial requirements.
You get CPCS Trained Operator (red) Card if you pass the technical tests.
Course content
- Legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice
- Safe systems of work, including method statements
- Taking personal responsibility
- Types of crane, and associated terminology
- Crane documentation
- Crane stability, duty charts, and safety devices
- Crane appreciation
- British Standard 7121
- The role of crane supervisor
- The 'appointed person'
- Preparing an area with exclusion zones.
Teaching and assessment
- 3 days of classroom learning and practical exercises
- 1-day CPCS technical tests.
What you get
Entry requirements
- CITB Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) Supervisor Level (SPEC SUP) gained in the last two years
- Sufficient experience to meet British Standard 7121 'Safe Use of Cranes'
- Good spoken and written English
- Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
