Skills shortages affect your ability to deliver. We want to hear what is really getting in the way, and we need infrastructure employers, clients and suppliers to tell us.

CITB and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) are asking organisations in the infrastructure sector to complete a short survey. It will take 5 to 7 minutes. Your answers will help shape the training and funding priorities that follow.

Why we are asking

We have launched a number of Sector Skills Plans across Great Britain, targeting significant investment to improve skills and employment outcomes in construction. One of these plans focuses on infrastructure. CECA leads its development, supported by CITB and other key organisations.

We are now assessing the evidence and collecting views to inform the next steps. Your views will help us identify the sector's skills priorities and develop the right solutions.

What the survey covers

The survey asks you to:

  • Rank issues in order of priority, such as visibility of employment and skills demand, and the availability of funding for training

  • Tell us about your recruitment habits

  • Tell us which roles in your business are at risk of skills shortages.

You do not need detailed data to hand. We are looking for your best view of what is happening in your business.

Who should take part

We would like to hear from infrastructure employers of all sizes, including main contractors and specialist contractors, and from every part of the sector.

How your answers will be used

Your answers will be used to shape the Infrastructure Sector Skills Plan. The total investment committed through the plan, including existing and upcoming interventions, is not affected by this survey. We are asking you to help us target that investment where it will make the most difference.

Complete the survey (5 to 7 minutes)

The survey closes on Friday 18 December.
