Health and Safety Awareness: Site Safety Plus

This one-day introductory course covers the main health and safety issues on construction sites and how these may affect you.
It is ideal for beginners in construction and civil engineering, or for anyone who wants to refresh their knowledge. Refresher courses are recommended every five years.
You will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus Certificate for completing the course.
Course content
The course includes:
- Individual responsibilities for personal safety and the safety of others
- Typical construction hazards and how these are controlled
- Legal requirements and liabilities
- Managing hazards e.g. working at height, manual handling, fire prevention, machinery and equipment
- Occupational health
Teaching and assessment
Teaching involves classroom-based discussion, case studies, group work and presentations.
Students must attend all 7.5 hours as per the Site Safety Plus attendance requirements.
There will also be a multiple-choice test.

Entry requirements
- Good spoken and written English.
- Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
- Employers enrolling employees on weekend courses must reimburse them for their time.
