Course content

  • Health, Safety & Environmental responsibilities for underground service location.
  • Establish the presence of services in a working area.
  • Knowledge of working near live buried services.
  • Identify symbols and coding in relation to utility plans.
  • Actions to be carried out in an emergency.

Teaching and assessment 

  • Individual & peer exercises
  • Written theory assessments
  • Practical Observation assessments

Qualifications you get

  • EUSR Category 1.

Mandatory entry requirements

  • Reasonable level of mobility
  • Ability to lift and move loads
