CITB Skills & Training Conference returns to Perth
The next CITB Skills & Training Conference is heading to Perth where employers and training providers will gather to discuss Scotland’s skills and training landscape.
Perth Theatre and Concert Hall hosts the event on Thursday 28 August, when Graeme Dey, MSP, Minister for Higher & Further Education, will be amongst the day’s key speakers.
The Minister will be joined by the CITB Executive Team and advisors, along with construction employers, industry federations, training groups, training providers and Tier 1 contractors.
Registered employers will have the opportunity to discuss the importance of construction skills and training to their business, while hearing about hot topics including modern methods of construction, different routes into construction and the CITB Industry Impact Fund. In addition to selecting workshops that are most relevant to them, employers have the chance to access one-to-one support on accessing CITB funding and services.
CITB wants to work in partnership with training providers to address skills shortages in construction. Providers can help to shape these plans in workshops and find out how CITB’s plans to build a provider network across Great Britain can help them to train and support more construction companies.
Other workshops at the Perth Skills & Training Conference will include:
Employer Networks: Employer Networks aim to simplify the way employers get the support and funding needed to access the training they want. Making it easier for employers to access training and funding and bringing employers together at local level can also help to inform CITB on future training needs.
Training Provider Network: The new Training Provider Network will bring training providers together, giving opportunities for cross industry collaboration to drive meaningful impact and outcomes for construction training.
Industry Impact Fund: CITB's first fund of its kind gives employers the power to design and develop innovative training and upskilling solutions across six key themes: Productivity, Digital Skills, Retention, Trainers and Assessors, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Net Zero. Find out more about the fund and hear from employers and partners who have accessed the funding.
Scottish Training Groups: Are you aware of the Training Group network in Scotland? TGs offer a wide range of support and services to construction employers, especially small and medium-sized employers, helping them to source suitable training and qualifications locally at competitive prices.
