How much will it cost to join a Training Group?
Training Group membership fees vary across the regions. The average fee is typically under £100, these fees help fund Training Group networking events, group meetings and other essential activities.
There are no Training Groups in my local area or trade - what can I do?
Most Local Training Groups have capacity for additional members, so it’s worth approaching the Group closest to you. If you feel there is a gap in provision, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How are Training Groups funded?
Training Groups are funded by the CITB Training Group Grant. This is a financial contribution to the running of the Training Groups and funded by the Levy, in order to support employers with their training needs.
How will the CITB Engagement Team work with me and my Training Group?
Every Training Group has a dedicated relationship manager from the CITB Engagement Team. They work closely with their Training Groups, providing support and promoting the work they do.
Can I access non-construction specific training via the Training Group?
Yes, many Training Groups help their members access training which isn’t construction specific. While most training facilitated by Training Groups is construction focused, Groups will always offer additional advice and guidance.
Should I join a Local or Specialist Training Group?
Local Training Groups provide support to a wide range of construction employers within a specific local area, whereas Specialist Training Groups work with employers from individual sectors or niche areas.
Employers are able to join more than one group and may benefit from both a Local and Specialist Training Group. Deciding on which group to join may depend on your individual training needs.
Your CITB Engagement Adviser can provide more information on which group is right for you.
If I join a Training Group can I still get support from my CITB Adviser?
Absolutely. Our Engagement Team and Training Groups work closely together – employers receive support from both their Group Training Officer and their CITB Adviser if needed.
Who should join a Training Group and what are the requirements of members?
All Levy-registered employers are able to join a Training Group. Members appreciate the benefits of training and upskilling their workforce, and value the support and the cost-savings achieved by being part of the group.
The most effective Training Groups are those with proactive, engaged and enthusiastic members who value being part of a network that shares best practice and support.
