The UK Plant Operator of the Year (UKPO) 2025 took place at CITB’s National Construction College (NCC) in Bircham Newton, Norfolk, on Saturday 6 September. NCC apprentice Josh Burnett, 17, will be the youngest of 60 entrants competing for the title UK Plant Operator of the Year, to be judged on 6 September. Josh, who recently completed his SQA Level 2 Diploma in Plant Operations Apprenticeship at the National Construction College in Norfolk, now works full time as Plant Operator at Corrigan Contractors Ltd on the West Coast of Scotland.

Returning for the fourth year, the awards continue to highlight the significant contributions of women from across the construction industry and showcase women in the sector in order to make role models more visible and accessible.
