The project will design and implement a mentor-led trainee scheme that supports and compliments degree education and study in the workplace.

The purpose of this project is to standardise, plan and implement training schemes for trainees and graduate trainees in surveying and construction to standardize and implement recruitment in conjunction with local colleges and universities.

The project will develop a toolkit to attract, train and retain a suitably skilled workplace. The toolkit can be adapted and branded to meet the needs of the organisation. It will develop new frameworks and sustainable structures to enable members to effectively recruit train and retain a competent workforce now and in the future as a result developing career and progression pathways

The project will develop and deliver a programme aimed at promoting careers in the construction sector and address the employment challenge facing the construction sector in the South West.

The target new entrants are career changers and groups that are under-represented in our sector. The programme will focus on delivering training outcomes in Chartered Management Institute Diploma level 2, 3 or 4 depending on professional background and experience.

As well as SSMTS, CSCS, multi-trade construction awards, project management, English, maths and ICT as required.

The project will work with and enable NFB members to engage with schools to make students, their careers advisors and parents/guardians aware of the opportunities and benefits of a career within our industry.

This will be achieved through a virtual reality BIM model designed by young people to engage with young people and demonstrate how the industry is transforming to a digital environment.

The project will support 60 disabled adults across Scotland and England into employment in the construction industry through a programme of mentoring, structured training and work experience programme

The project will overcome the practical barriers to delivering work experience and increase the appeal of working within the industry by designing a week of work experience activity that any construction contractor can download and put into practise.

The activity will provide a ‘real life’ project, and a taster of a range of careers. It will link to the curriculum in a range of ways including maths, design technology, science, geography, citizenship and English.

The project will deliver a radical approach to collaborative leadership based on existing and emerging global best practice models fit for this connected and potentially disruptive world. It will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop joint solutions on skills gaps, industry and societal challenges. The collaboration will result in a framework aligned to the challenges and opportunities facing the industry and its position in the wider society.

This project aims to provide a set of resources and develop industry-HE partnership initiatives as a response to the CITB’s call for commissioned employer-HE collaboration.

The project will provide contextualised learning through immersive and experiential learning opportunities to improve accessibility to practical learning.

A sustainable HEI-employer network will be established in two regions (Wales and Yorkshire) to establish best practice in collaborative partnerships, which will be a model for UK-wide scalability.

A set of physical and virtual resources will be developed that will specifically address three principal target groups:

• Level 3 school/college leavers
• Existing employees
• Graduates/Higher Diplomates from non-cognate disciplines.
