Lean Construction Workshop 2: Leading Improvement Projects

The purpose of this standard is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to support the following: The workshop is designed to build the Lean Practitioners’ confidence in their ability to lead their project while also reassuring them that they will be fully supported throughout the process. It will familiarise them with the A3 form that they will use to capture key project data and outcomes and enable them to draft initial content for the Define section of the form.

Lean Construction Workshop 3: Embedding Lean

The purpose of this standard is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to build the Lean Practitioners confidence in their ability to lead an active project through to the final stages with additional support throughout the process. The workshop focuses in more detail on the later sections of the A3 publication and enables participants to draft initial content for their projects.

Lean Practitioner Module 2

The purpose of this standard is to focus on the development of skills needed to lead structured Lean improvement projects, with an emphasis on the Define, Measure, and Analyse stages. Learners apply Lean tools in their own workplace to scope problems, gather data, and identify root causes.

Management of Fire and Life Safety Systems

The purpose of this standard is to provide the delegate with an understanding of the impact of legislation, regulation and industry guidance related to active and passive Fire and Life Safety systems during the complete lifecycle of the building.

MCWP Competent Assessed Person

The purpose of this standard is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to support the Competent Assessed Person (CAP) programme which is an advanced level of assessment. This leads to the certification that engineers are proficient in undertaking statutory inspections of MCWPs or Construction Hoists to the highest specification, as stipulated by legislation/regulations.

NHSS 12A Foreman

This standard covers static temporary traffic management on motorways and high speed dual carriageways including on-line widening schemes and leads to 12a/b Foreman status.

NHSS 12B Lead Traffic Management Operative (LTMO)

The purpose of this standard is to cover 12A/B for static temporary traffic management on motorways and high speed dual carriageways including on-line widening schemes, to the level of Lead Traffic Management Operative.

NHSS 12D M6 Registered Lead Traffic Management Operative (RLTMO)

The purpose of this standard is to cover 12D M6 scheme for installing and removing temporary traffic management on rural and urban roads, to the level of a Registered Lead Traffic Management Operative (RLTMO). This standard includes the previous standard: Technical officer Sector Scheme T6.

Planning and monitoring work in construction

This standard is exclusively for use by Approved Training Organisations (ATOs). The purpose of this standard is to enable the delegate to develop an understanding of effective planning and monitoring of work as required by a practising or potential site supervisor.
