OSAT: Capacity research and evaluation of the current model for delivery
Onsite assessment (OSAT) is aimed at construction workers who have skills, experience and training but no formally recognised qualifications.
CITB, government agencies, AOs, trade bodies, employers and assessment centres are all involved in developing the OSAT system.
- Determining the current volume of onsite assessors available to construction
- Establishing whether the current supply of onsite assessors is adequate to meet current needs
- Quantifying future demand for onsite assessors by volume and subject;
- Identifying the key drivers for career decisions amongst assessors;
- Providing an assessment of the quality of onsite assessment practice, including its efficiency and effectiveness; and
- Investigating whether there is an alternative model for onsite assessment training.
