A condensed 3-day course for experienced operators of 360° excavators above 10 tonnes, seeking a formal qualification.
Get your CPCS trained operator card (red card) if you pass the technical tests.
Little or no experience? Consider the full 10-day course.
Course content
- Safe operation of the excavator 360° tracked
- Fit and operate ancillary equipment
- Situate the machine safely and efficiently
- Minor adjustments and routine servicing
- Capabilities, purpose, and limitations of each machine
- Safety precautions
- Interpret information from level pegs and profiles
- Scheduling routine adjustments and service procedures
- Quick hitches
- Work to levels using laser equipment.
Teaching and assessment
- 2 days classroom learning and practical exercises
- 1-day CPCS technical tests.
What you get
- CPCS Trained Operator Card (red card) if you pass the technical tests
- CITB National Construction College certificate available on request.
Entry requirements
- CITB HS&E test passed within the last two years, or the new CPCS Plant Operative Health, Safety and Environment Test - NOCN Job Cards
- Good spoken and written English
- Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
