If you are a construction company with an in-house training department that provides non-commercial training, you could apply to become a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO).
When you become a CITB ATO, you're demonstrating that the quality of your in-house training meets the industry agreed standard and is comparable to that offered by commercial providers.
You'll also be able to add the training achievements of your staff to the Construction Training Register (CTR) to support their career progression within the industry.
You can choose to provide Assured, Recognised or both types of training products. And as an employer with in-house training facilities, you won't be charged an annual fee to be a CITB ATO.
There are several steps that you must go through in order to be accepted. The good news is that you will only have to do this once. Here’s what you need to do:
Before you make an application to become a CITB ATO, you need to do the following:
Please make sure that you have fully read and understood these requirements and terms of agreement as these form the basis of your contract with CITB.

Once you have created your log-in, you will need to:
* We will accept a scanned copy as an image file (e.g. JPG or PNG), or a PDF/MS Word file copy of the document. You can upload as many documents/files as you wish to support your application, but each file must be less than 20MB.
Watch the video on how to complete the self-assessment and provide evidence.
Once we have verified the evidence that you uploaded, we will confirm your status as a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO).
