Temporary works coordinator - SSP

Overview

The purpose of this standard is to provide the delegate with the knowledge to support the following scope.

14 hours and 45 minutes (which includes course delivery and examination)

Purpose/scope

The purpose of this standard is to provide the delegate with the knowledge to support the following:

Scope:

  • the need for and duties of a TWC
  • the other key roles involved in temporary works
  • the use of BS 5975-1&2:2024 in relation to the role
  • typical documents used in temporary works
  • other legislation and guidance that interact with temporary works
  • the importance of the four Cs: communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competence
  • the need for risk management

Delivery

All materials and equipment must be of a suitable quality and quantity for delegates to achieve learning outcomes and must comply with relevant legislation.

The minimum number of delegates per course is 4. The maximum number of delegates per course is 20. These minimum and maximum learner numbers are not subject to an appeal.

A publication to support the training must be made available to each delegate to use throughout and to keep for reference.

The following delivery methods may be used in the delivery of this standard:

  • face to face learning environment only (such as classroom/workshop etc.)
  • virtual only (guided learning on-line)
  • a blend of face to face and virtual

This standard is predominantly theoretical training

This standard is considered to be set at an intermediate level
