CITB help gain convictions in health & safety training cheating operation
Three people have been convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court, London, as part of an investigation into fraud in construction health, safety and environment (HS&E) tests. The guilty parties, identified by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), assisted some people taking the HS&E tests in London and Leeds by taking payments to give them Bluetooth devices and providing them with answers to questions to help them cheat and pass the tests.

Behind the scenes of construction: CITB encourages visitors to register for Open Doors 2025
People interested in pursuing a career in construction are now able to register to attend Open Doors 2025, which returns 17-22 March. The event is being delivered by Build UK in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and CSCS, supported by media, community and industry partners, who are encouraging people to book a place and attend.

CITB grants to support Industry Accreditation transition until March 2026
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has announced a one-year extension of funding to support the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) in transitioning all Industry Accreditation (IA) cardholders to recognised qualifications. All IA cards issued from 1 January 2020 will expire on 31 December 2024 and cannot be replaced using IA.

Open Doors 2025: CITB encourages construction employers to register their events
Construction employers across the country have the chance to inspire the next generation of construction workers by demonstrating the excitement of a career in construction and taking young people onto one of their live sites. CITB helps crack down on rogue traders, Asbestos Boss Ltd
Following an investigation carried out by Stockport Trading Standards and the HSE, UK Manager for Asbestos Boss Ltd, Daniel Cockcroft, has been brought to justice with the help of the CITB Quality & Standards Team. Stockport Trading Standards and the HSE were first alerted to the rogue traders back in September 2021, when the company removed the asbestos insulating board from a domestic garage, with little to no control measures in place. The investigation later revealed several similar cases, with one case deemed such poor quality that the site owners received quotes up to £64,000 to put it right.

Helping Onsite T Level students into construction jobs
