You can claim this grant when your employee gains a new plant unit of an NVQ or SVQ between 1 August 2017 and 31 March 2018. The unit must lead to a category being added to their existing Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) blue card.

Who can claim
Employers registered with CITB who submitted an accurate Levy Return by 31 December 2017.

How much you can get
- £300 for each category added.
You also get an extra 10% if you pay the CITB levy and meet certain deadlines, with the Supplementary payment.
More than one category can be added to the card at the same time.
With our Vocational Qualification grant, you can claim for a maximum of four NVQs/SVQs at each level per employee in a lifetime. Three of these can be for adding a category to a CPCS blue card.
What the grant supports
This grant supports your employees gaining NVQ/SVQ units in certain plant subjects. The units must lead to extra categories being added to their existing CPCS blue card. You can see a full list of eligible CPCS plant categories supported by grants.
The grant does not support NVQ/SVQ units that lead to a new CPCS blue card, or upgrades from a CPCS red card to a CPCS blue card.
How to claim
The deadline for making a claim is 30 June 2018.
You can claim once your employee has gained their NVQ/SVQ unit and you are ready for the category to be added to their card.
How to claim if the training provider has your CITB registration number:
- If you inform your CPCS training provider of your 7-digit CITB Levy registration number at the time of booking, then we’ll send you a pre-completed grant claim form by post.
- Sign and return this to us at the address on the form.
How to claim if the training provider doesn't have your CITB registration number:
For training taking place between 1 August 2017 and 31 March 2018, download and complete a single grant claim form as a PDF (171KB) or a multiple grant claim form in Excel (158KB).
Email the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org by the deadline.
