Plant training grants

We pay grants for the achievement of approved plant training courses and qualifications.

These courses and qualifications include:

  • specific plant-related vocational qualification (VQ) units
  • the theory and practical elements of standard or advanced technical tests for approved plant card schemes.

Note: the published rates for plant training and testing for 2018/19 are subject to a review with industry over the coming months. Over this period, CITB will be engaged with employers and federations to develop a grants model for the plant sector.

Which courses are eligible?

A list of plant courses which are eligible for this grant can be found using the links below:

Please be aware that there are some courses for which a full standard is being developed.

Approved courses will be provided by CITB Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) who will be listed in the soon-to-be-launched Construction Training Directory.

We pay approved plant NVQs and SVQs through the Short period qualifications grant route.

Approved plant training courses are supported under Short duration course achievements grant.
